New Members
Now that you're a new member, what next? We want
you to get involved. Here are a few suggestions to help get you on your way.
-
Sit with different people during breakfast. It's a great
way to get to know everybody a little better.
-
Volunteer for an activity, such as a club service project.
-
There are many ways to make up meetings that you might miss.
Each Rotary-related activity that you participate in counts as a meeting
"make-up." Here are some examples:
-
Attend a board meeting
-
Attend a committee meeting
-
Help with a community service project
-
Perform Rotary-related administrative functions
-
Attend a Rotary District event
-
Attend the meeting of another club
-
Get involved in one of the avenues of Rotary service:
community service, international service,
Foundation service, vocational service, or
club service.
-
Give a "classification" talk. This is where you tell us a
little about yourself--where you're from, what you do, interesting moments in
your life, things you like to do. You can tell us anything you want.
Really, it's not that bad. And yes, you can schedule it in advance.
-
Share your ideas. As a new member, you are a great
source of new ideas and better ways to do what we have done in the past.
Rotary International also has a wealth of information to help
new members understand Rotary. A few of these include:
